2026 "Sanfu·DHU Cup" 17th China College Students Fashion Draping Design Competition Preliminary Review Livestream Successfully Concluded | Highlights & Review Results Announcement

On January 12, the Preliminary Review Meeting for the “2026 'Sanfu · DHU' 17th China University Student Draping Design Competition”, hosted by the College of Fashion and Design of Donghua University and co-organized by Fujian Sanfu Garment Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Lingdi Digital Technology Co., Ltd., was held at the Sanfu Company Guangzhou Merchandise Center.

The theme of this year's competition is “Meta-Tailoring · Symbiosis”, focusing on digital empowerment and integrated co-creation. Adhering to the concept of craftsmanship modeling and virtual-real casting, it encourages contestants to actively use AI and 3D technology to expand the innovative path of fashion draping. The competition attracted 114 groups of excellent works from 38 professional colleges and universities across the country, fully reflecting the exploration results and innovative practices of various institutions in draping curriculum teaching.

This competition specially invited three senior experts from the industry, academia, and enterprise sectors to form a jury, ensuring professional and fair judgment from a multi-dimensional perspective: Founder of Shanghai Yishe Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. / Design Director of French brand Ébahir - Li Chunjiang, Winner of the 20th “Humen Cup” Women's Wear Design Competition Gold Award / Associate Professor at Donghua University - Song Jing, and Product Manager of Sanfu Merchandise Center - Chen Yinghong. The diverse backgrounds of the three judges ensured that this review focused on both creative height and market implementation and academic value.

At 2:00 PM, the live broadcast started on time. With the host's enthusiastic opening, the preliminary review of the competition officially kicked off.

Inside the company conference room, the review work was conducted in a closed-door format. Every portfolio was spread out on the long table. The three judges immersed themselves in different review rhythms. Mr. Li Chunjiang examined the lines and structures of the design drafts, scrutinizing their creative completeness from an international perspective; Professor Song Jing focused more on design descriptions and technical sheets, assessing their theoretical support and realizability with scholarly rigor; Manager Chen Yinghong repeatedly compared element colors with market positioning, judging their commercial potential based on frontline experience.

While the judges were reviewing, our live camera also took students into Sanfu's daily office environment.

At the same time, we interviewed two outstanding employee representatives who shared their work experiences and design insights at Sanfu. Fu Jiajia, a buyer for the Beauty Department tools, stated that our daily work is dealing with “beauty” and quickly implementing the latest trends into products. Wang Shijie, a buyer for the Menswear Department, emphasized that clothing requires a solid understanding of structure, craftsmanship, and fabrics, encouraging students not to stop at renderings but to understand how a garment transforms from a piece of cloth into ready-to-wear.

Faced with 114 sets of works from 38 institutions, the jury needed more time for in-depth review and discussion. The live broadcast showed only a part of the review process. After the live broadcast ended, the review work continued.

Through strict review by experts from enterprises and the industry, 20 groups of outstanding works from 13 institutions were shortlisted, and another 17 groups of works qualified for invitation. They will participate in the finals and runway show review in April 2026 to compete for Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards in “Draping Design” and “Draping Technology.”
